Their Love Story

How They Met
2014 - University
They were biotech students at Surya University (which is now gone, lol). They met at an orientation event held by the campus. She thought he looked like Joseph Gordon-Levitt, but he thought she looked like some random property agent he had met the other day, lol. They became study buddies in a study group, doing a lot of late-night group studying at McDonald's or Dunkin’ Donuts. She was shocked by how he sweated his face off after eating McD’s chili sauce. But she was struggling with her studies and sought help from him. Since then, they became closer to each other.
The Beginning of Their Relationship
2015 - Tangerang
Somehow, the study group was teasing them about each other, and it worked! She liked him first, but he turned her down. Then, he felt blue and started chasing her back. They finally went on their first date at a Holycow! in Alam Sutera. On Valentine’s Day, he brought her a box of macarons, 3 roses, and a note saying '3 words.' Long story short, he asked her to be his girlfriend with the song '1, 2, 3, 4' by Plain White T’s, and they made it official.
The Proposal
2022 - Pontianak
After graduation, they had to be in a long-distance relationship (LDR) for 3 years. Additionally, the pandemic happened, putting the couple in misery. Finally, the time came, and they were ready. After 7 years of being in a relationship and having countless supermarket dates, he proposed to her. It happened at the only parking building in Pontianak, where he asked her to be his wife. Despite him not being very romantic, she still said “YES!”
